norlan bewley trombone tips

In my article on “What is a good trombone for the first time buyer” I mentioned how it can be confusing trying to choose your first trombone as a student. There are established brands which are popular and have been for many years. There are more and more unknown brands which are extremely low in price and of equally low quality. If a brand new trombone costs 1/10th the price of an established brand, how good do you really think it is?

See some of my recommendations here.

Ronald Meyer, author of the Senior Bandsman blog, recently wrote me about his new article that provides some more advice on buying a new trombone. He discusses the different models and style of trombones available and how to test a trombone, both from a mechanical standpoint and tips on conducting playing tests. Ronald has several interesting insights to share – read more of his article here.
